Merimbula Marina has a range of fishing packages to suit everyone.

We look forward to being able to tailor a fishing package to suit you and your group.

ABOUT THE FISH

SAND AND GRAVEL
Fishing on sand and gravel around the Bournda and Tura Head area produces some of the best Flathead and Gummy shark fishing on the NSW coast. AVAILABLE ALL YEAR ROUND.

THE LOCAL REEFS
Snapper, Morwong, Jack-Ass Morwong (Deep Sea Bream), Tiger and Sand Flathead, Trevally, Nannygai, Leatherjacket, not to mention the many varieties of Wrasses and Gropers, are a bottom bouncers delight, so if your looking for that special variety of table fish, be assured the Sapphire Coast has them. AVAILABLE ALL YEAR ROUND.

TROLLING SEASON
The trolling season runs mid-October to the end of June. The fish targeted are Yellowfin Tuna, Albacore, Dolphin fish, Wahoo and Marlin. Trolling with lures is one method used to hook these fish. Slow trolling with Slimey Mackerel, Cowan Young (large yellow tail) and Stripped Tuna is also effective. Slow trolling season for Marlin is February and March.

LIVE BAIT CUBING SEASON
Drifting over the Tathra and Merimbula canyons with live bait and running a cube trail produce some of the best catches of Yellowfin tuna and Albacore on the eastern coast of Australia. From the many thousands of Game fishing trips we have done, our skippers have brought home very happy anglers who keep coming back year after year for the hard fighting fish. Big sharks, mainly Makos, are another fish often caught in our burley trail during the Tuna season.

WIDE REEF
With the help of GPS and the most up to date echo sounding electronic equipment, we have located some very good reef peaks just 15 to 16 miles east off Merimbula and Eden. The rewards have been excellent with Tasmanian Trumpeter up to 35lbs, although most of the fish are between 10 and 20lbs. They are great fish to catch and are magnificent eating. We also catch Rubberlip morwong and Deep sea bream, Ling, Ocean perch, Snapper, and on the edge of the reef, large Tiger flathead.

ACCOMMODATION CHOICES
Merimbula offers a large range of accommodation, as it is a very popular holiday destination, with over 100 accommodation complexes, ranging from 3 to 5 star. In 2009 we are offering the choice of 3 accommodation options with our fishing packages:

Country and Coast Experience
The Candelo Family Hotel is a great option for groups of around 10 anglers. Country breakfasts daily and delicious country style meals available Thursday to Saturday nights. Candelo is an easy drive from Canberra and this rural village is located 20 minutes inland from Merimbula. On the first Sunday in the month Candelo comes alive with one of the biggest markets on the South Coast. Anything goes in Candelo on that day with up to 300 stalls filling the park, hall and the recreation ground. There is something for everyone!!!

Nature Lovers Paradise
If you are after a total environmentally friendly adventure and accommodation package then
Woodbine Park Eco Cabins is the place for you. Idyllically nestled inside Bournda National Park and surrounded by pristine white ocean beaches and towering eucalypt forests, Woodbine Park provides a truly unique nature-based holiday experience. Comprising 20 x two bedroom fully self contained holiday cabins, each comfortably accommodating 6 adults. On fishing lay days you can take in a round of golf, go fishing, swimming or surfing, or simply relax in the shade by your cabin. Enjoy the onsite playground, barbecues, tennis or swimming pool. Located just 5 minutes north of magical Merimbula with all its attractions, the best of both worlds.

Right in the Heart of Merimbula
The Captains Quarters offers 30 squares of luxury living, making it perfect for group accommodation. Upstairs there are five bedrooms with all the facilities including home theatre, surround sound, DVD, Austar, spa, sauna and 20 metre pool, all this with magnificent views overlooking the lake and town.

MEALS
Breakfast is supplied on fishing days and consists of cereal, bacon and eggs. Lunch is provided on all fishing days.

DINING OUT
Merimbula has a diverse range of quality restaurants and take away outlets that cater for all tastes and flavours. The local seafood is definitely something to enjoy or if staying at Woodbine Park Eco Cabins you can use the BBQ facilities.

THE VESSELS- Merimbula Marina currently has two fully surveyed vessels

True Blue is our 16 metre Sea-Cat, which is licensed to carry 75 passengers and has room to fish 25 anglers. Groups of 10 or more have ample room for reef and game fishing.	Sea Eagle is a 43ft Steber Pro Fisher which is licensed to carry 25 passengers. This vessel is ideally suited for groups of 8 - 10 for reef and game fishing.

THE TACKLE
All gear, bait and tackle is provided, but if you have a special rod you would like to use, by all means bring it along. Quality fishing rods, reels, and tackle can also be purchased from the Sapphire Coast Trading Post. A wide range of top quality lures are on board and are on a replacement basis when using your own rods.

SKIPPER AND CREW
All our Skippers, just like our vessels are fully licensed. With over 40 years combined experience in the fishing and boating industries our crews have the expertise and experience to ensure all your needs are met so you can relax and enjoy your Fishing.

All Merimbula Marina crew and staff are professional, friendly and look forward to
providing you with the best service possible.

LAYDAYS
On your lay days you are welcome to use one of our 14ft hire boats, at no cost, to go lake fishing for Bream, Luderick and Flathead, or you may wish to enjoy some of the natural and cultural attractions of the area. The Sapphire Coast also has some great golf courses that you might like to visit.

CONDITIONS
If weather conditions prevent us from going to sea, that's our loss, so be assured that we will endeavour to get you to sea at all times, except in unsafe or unfishable conditions.

REFUNDS
Refunds will be given on days lost due to bad weather conditions. Eg: If only 3 days are fished on a 7 day package, a refund for the 4th day will apply. We contract in accordance with our written terms and conditions, which can be obtained upon request.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

PLEASE NOTE:

We look forward to tailoring a fishing package to suit you, to secure your spot on one of these tailored charters, a 20% deposit is required at the time of booking with an additional deposit, balancing to 50%, required 90 days prior to date of departure. All packages require full payment prior to departure.

We understand that sometimes even the best laid plans go astray and for this reason the following cancellation policy applies:

Cancellations received from booking up to 90 days prior to departure will incur a cancellation fee
of 20% of full package cost

Cancellations received between 90 and 60 days prior to departure will incur a cancellation fee
of 50% of full package cost

Cancellations received between 60 and 30 days prior to departure will incur a cancellation fee
of 75% of full package cost

Cancellations received less than 30 days prior to departure will incur full cost of package.
